And We Finally Start the Trip Home
Actually, we're only starting a leg of the trip home. We're driving up to a state or national park on the shores of Lake Erie (the spookiest of the great lakes) to visit K's other aunt and uncle where they're camping before driving down to Columbus, the land of Buckeyes, to visit a final uncle and drop off K's grandmother for an extended visit. Saturday, we'll get a portion of the trip back to Metro Atlanta completed before finally ending up at K's parents' house sometime on Sunday. On Monday I show up for my week's stint volunteering to help the brewer at 5 Seasons at 10:30 a.m. and I'll be working there and staying with the in-laws for that week. I'm hoping to be back home by Saturday to get a couple of days of rest in before we have to start pre-planning for school the week after that. I'd applied for another job a few weeks ago that would have sprung me from the classroom this year, but I haven't heard back from them about even setting up an interview, so I'm doubting I'll be doing anything other than babysitting teens this year. It's a bit depressing, especially given that I think I would have really enjoyed this job, but there's not a whole lot I can do about it except for ignore the fact that work starts back in two weeks for as long as possible.

Ha! Because the lake is eerie! You're clever.
And guess what... some of us hate our jobs just as much as you but we don't get two months off for summer. Life is a bitch sometimes.
Sorry we're not going to be here tonight to see you pass through. What hours are you working at the brewery next week? Maybe we can get together sometime then.
Courtney: I'll be going in around 9:30 each morning and I'm assuming I'll be out before 5 or 6 because I've never seen the brewer there when I ate there for supper.
Work? That's not a bad idea.
