Before I move into today's post, I wanted to see if any of my readers local or regional to north Atlanta want to hook up for dinner sometime this week. Courtney mentioned meeting up someday this week and I'm going to assume that meant them heading into Georgia instead of me driving more than an hour after work during Atlanta rush hour. I could be wrong though. Chris and Meaghan, what's the farthest you'd be willing to come south? Julie, how far north would you be willing to go? I'll know more by Monday morning to actually plan something. Just don't expect me to call. The only number for any of you I have in my new phone is Courtney because she's the only one who called.
The traveling part of the vacation is over. We got to K's parents house tonight about 10:30 after spending most of the day on the road. We had planned on breaking the trip in two and when we realized that we could make Knoxville in time for dinner, but then we found out our reasons for stopping, Courtney and Mickey, were out of town again so we just kept on plowing through.
What we should have done is gone and taken one of the bourbon distillery tours in Kentucky, but by the time I thought of it, we were about an hour south of the closest ones. I don't drink any of the stuff. The strongest stuff I can palate is are top end beers, wines and meads, but it is an interesting process and it would have been neat to see. If I'd thought of it earlier we could have stayed in Kentucky tonight and met our two favorite Knoxvillians Sunday for lunch possibly. Besides, getting to Knoxville on Sunday was what Courtney and Mickey were expecting us to do, which is why they were rocking out in the land of choo choos instead waiting for us to make up our minds about what our plans for the trip home were. Honestly, I'm shocked they didn't hold off on all potential plans until they knew exactly to the minute when K and I would roll into town, as I'm sure the rest of you are as well. I mean, can you believe someone wouldn't plan their life around me and my off-the-cuff travel planning? I can't.
Of course the good part of this is that I get a full day of rest before showing up for my brewing apprenticeship on Monday.

It's Atlanta Restaurant Week, so we're actually busy all week, except Friday.
We could probably join you and are willing to drive to see our friends. Just write us an e-mail and let us know!
After three days of waiting by the phone and occasionally calling someone else to make sure the phone works, somewhere in between creating a shrine to you and sobbing "Why doesn't he like me?" I decided to blast "I Will Survive" and forget about your stupid phone call.
Uh, I mean, sure, we'd be willing to drive down for dinner one night.
You guys could have called and met us in 'Nooga. We were just hanging downtown eating dinner and drinking beer until it was time to go to the concert. Oh well.
We'll see about this week.
Does Julie own a restaurant that I'm not aware of? I am woefully out of touch.
Jacob, I'll call your phone so you'll have my number in it (that is, assuming that the number I have in my phone is in fact your number; if not, we'll be in a real pickle then, won't we?)
I do believe Meaghan and I could do it Friday, if that works for everyone else. I'd be willing to drive into Atlanta, although it might be a slightly late dinner by the time we get there after work.
Courtney: If you built a shrine to me I guess you get a pass.
Mickey: I assumed that by the time we got to the Noog that it would have been too late. We got there around 8 p.m. and a lot of concerts have started by then.
Everyone: Expect an e-mail tonight. I need to find out if Julie can actually make it on Friday or if they'll be too tired from restaurant week.
