There was another first for me this weekend; I just didn't expect it. When K, E, Courtney, and I got to the beach this weekend and met up with my parents, sister and her boyfriend, we found out that the boyfriend became fiance earlier that day.
That's right, my sister got engaged, making this weekend the first time I've ever had an engaged sibling. Hopefully, it won't happen again. She's my only sister and I like the groom to be.
To give you a feel for my sister, she actually did say maybe when her beau gave her the ring. She promptly stuck the ring on her finger and the real answer was obvious, but saying that she plays her cards close to the chest is an understatement. It's probably more appropriate to say that she plays the cards subcutaneously. She played it off like it was no big deal, but she seemed to be looking at her hands an awful lot and she was downright touchy-feely with Sam by her standards. That meant that she touched him on the shoulder a few times during supper. The girl makes my logical and reserved mother look practically sappy.

Congratulations to your sister! That's very exciting.
I like your sister and her fiance. They make a good couple. They will have adorable half-Asian children.
Jake, tell court that i said congratz! 20 bucks says that she will go totally to pieces on the wedding day. I predict crying, yelling, screaming, and basically having a nervous breakdown as she struggles between her steely reserved nature and the mushy emotionalism that comes with the wedding dress.
... that or they will elope in vegas and not tell anyone for a couple of weeks.
Justin: They're not planning a formal wedding. I don't know their exact plans, but from the sound it they don't involve dresses and churches.
ha... I'm not quite so reserved as you make me sound... I just like to keep Sam guessing! I actually tear up at some movies and even a few commercials these days!
