A Couple of Changes

For my regular readers, I went through the blog today and replaced all references to my wife and son with their initials. So now, K is my wife and E is my son. I realize the blog reads a little worse for it, but it'll give me a little more peace of mind when it comes to anonymity with those who don't already know about my blog.

It's a good call, Jacob. My blog url used to be my full name and I used the proper names of my partner and kid. Nothing happened but I learned over time what could, so changed everything. I feel like a tosser sometimes using pseudonyms but you've got to be safe.

I would probably do the same thing. I'll do my best to remember in comments.

I sometimes wish I'd gone with a pseudonym instead of my real name, but it's a little late now. I'm careful not to mention the names of any places I've ever worked or gone to school, though. (For example, you mentioned our college by name in one of your last posts, and I wouldn't do that. It makes you easy to track down, especially since BC is so small.) Every so often I Google myself with various combinations of other words to make sure my blog doesn't come up, and it never does. So I think I'm safe for now.

Yes, by the way, to Courtney's point, I know for a fact there is a person in the PR office of our alma mater who keeps a list of all alumni who have blogs. I believe he found mine some time ago. I must have slipped up and referenced it by name.
