For the past week I've been playing Travian, an online browser game that seems pretty interesting so far. If you've ever liked the strategy games, this might capture your interest, but it won't take up all of your time. The way it works is that when you start a project in your village, you have to wait for it to complete before you can start something else. In other words, you can set a field or mine to upgrade and then go off to other real world endeavors and only check back in later without losing any momentum in the game.

It's free, so the only commitment you'll have to make is a little time and if you hate it, you won't have wasted a whole lot of that even. If it allows you to choose an area of the map to settle in the beginning, my coordinates are 144, -42. If you manage to set up camp nearby, I'll try to help you out some.

Chris, if you visit the site, you'll notice that it hardly qualifies for video game. There are no moving parts.
